Last week I returned from a very quick, 48-hour trip to Texas for my Dad’s wedding. The wedding took place near the beach in Galveston. As our time was very limited, we didn’t get a chance to do much other than what was on the schedule for the weekend, but it was nonetheless, a jam-packed schedule.
On Friday night we went to a steak and seafood bar/ restaurant called Number 13 (definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.) The next morning and afternoon were our own so a group of us planned to go do the Rainforest tour at Moody Gardens and then planned a message at the Moody Gardens spa afterwards. Unfortunately, it was raining for the majority of our trip; however, the sun did come out for a few hours on Saturday, just in time for us to get some pool time in before getting ready to leave for the ceremony at a small Chapel nearby. Like the chapel, the ceremony was quaint. A small, intimate group of just family, significant others, and very close friends. The reception dinner was also small but beautifully decorated with an amazing 4-course meal paired with Dom Pérignon. Although we didn’t get to see very much of the city, the Moody Gardens is a great attraction in Galveston with lots to do, to name a few: a zip line, the rainforest, the aquarium, 4-D movies, an incredible spa, a waterpark, and so much more.
